Viet Nam Airlines becomes 6th most punctual airline in Asia-Pacific
VGP - National flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines was ranked the 6th most punctual airline in Asia-Pacific by Cirium, a leader in aviation analytics.
Viet Nam Airlines achieved an on-time arrival percentage of 76.7 percent to secure the 6th position, jumping three places compared to the ranking in 2023.
This is a remarkable result given a surge in demand for air travel continued to place significant pressure on airport infrastructure especially during peak national holiday period.
It is estimated that Viet Nam Airlines transported 22.7 million passengers in 2024, up 8 percent from 2023. Meanwhile, cargo volume is projected to increase by 40 percent from the previous year to 314,700 tons.
Each aircraft in the fleet is operating an average of 11 hours daily, a 25 percent increase.
Cirium’s 2024 analysis was based on data from 35 million flights globally, using information from air traffic control systems, airlines, and satellite tracking, among others./.
