U.S.-sponsored explosive ordnance disposal training range inaugurated in Ha Noi
VGP - The training range for explosive material disposal was inaugurated and handed over to the Viet Nam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC) at a ceremony in Ha Noi's Ba Vi district on March 24.

The project was funded by the U.S. Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC) and the U.S. Embassy in Viet Nam via non-refundable aid worth over US$700,000.
The range covers an area of 2 hectares, including classrooms, kitchens, restrooms, an assembly area, a mine detection area, an explosive disposal area, a parking lot, an internal road system, and an equipment calibration area at the VNMAC headquarters.
It will contribute to the national mine action program for the 2010–2025 period, improving training capacity and ensuring safety in efforts to settle the consequences of bombs and mines.
The range will also serve to protect people's lives by minimising risks from unexploded ordnance (UXO), and develop the VNMAC into a fully capable national mine action training institution.
Addressing the event, U.S. Ambassador to Viet Nam Marc E. Knapper said, the project serves as a testament to the defense cooperation between the two countries, aiming to realize one of the key initiatives in the 2023-2028 bilateral cooperation plan on addressing the remnants of explosive ordnance from the war./.
