U.S. Deputy Secretary of State to pay four-day working visit to Viet Nam
VGP - U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman will pay a working visit to Viet Nam from June 10-13 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang told reporters on Thursday.
The U.S. delegation, led by the Deputy Secretary of State, will meet representatives of Viet Nam's agencies to discuss bilateral cooperation and international and regional issues of mutual concerns, said Le.
Viet Nam and the U.S. normalized relations in 1995 and elevated their ties to comprehensive partnership in 2013.
The U.S. remains the largest importer of Viet Nam's commodities. The Southeast Asian nation gained US$91.5 billion and US$49.6 billion from exporting to the U.S. in 2021 and in the first five months of 2022, respectively, according to the General Statistics Office./.
