UN Deputy Secretary-General hails Viet Nam's leadership role in green transition process

Mohammed made that above statement during her meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Ha Noi on Thursday on the sidelines of the P4G Summit.
She expressed her strong impression of Viet Nam's remarkable development, as well as its active participation not only in UN forums but also in UN peacekeeping missions.
The UN Deputy Secretary-General welcomed the positive developments in Viet Nam–UN relations and expressed thanks to Vietnam for its support of the "One UN" Initiative.
She shared concerns about the challenges facing multilateralism, including the risk of trade wars with global impacts.
The UN expects to continue receiving support from member states for its role in addressing global issues, she shared, affirming that the UN will prioritize promoting investment in technology, artificial intelligence, climate change response, financing for green growth, and developing sustainable agricultural systems in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on schedule.
She pledged to actively engage with partners to expedite the implementation of projects in Viet Nam under the framework of the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
Pham, for his part, suggested the UN continue to pay attention to support Viet Nam in promoting science and technology, fostering innovation, advancing just energy transition, enhancing green economic development, and accelerating the implementation of the SDGs.
Viet Nam is a responsible member of the UN, noted Pham, proposing the UN continue to advocate ASEAN's central role in the region.
The nation stands ready to play an active role in promoting efforts to seek solutions for peace, stability, and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region, reiterated the Prime Minister.

The same day, Pham had a meeting with Secretary-General of UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Rebeca Grynspan.
He stressed the importance of international trade and investment as drivers of growth, viewing this as an opportunity for UNCTAD to assert its role and contributions in addressing challenges related to global trade and investment, fostering harmony among nations to build a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and prosperous world.
Regarding the organization of UNCTAD16, Viet Nam will closely work with UNCTAD to organize the event in accordance with international practices and Vietnamese law, the Prime Minister stated.
For her part, Grynspan expressed her impression of the strong messages conveyed by Viet Nam's senior leaders at the summit regarding the country's consistent commitment to upholding multilateralism, respecting international law, and adhering to international commitments.
Amid global challenges, Viet Nam continues to assert itself as a strong, dynamic economy, truly becoming a successful model of transformation and economic development, told the guest.
Grynspan expressed her hope that UNCTAD16 held in Viet Nam will provide a good opportunity to showcase the nation's success and share the experience of other countries.
She vows to support countries, especially developing ones, in overcoming current challenges, while continuing to uphold multilateralism and international trade relations based on mutual respect and international law./.
