Many houses in the northen province of Ninh Binh are damaged by typhoon Bualoi

The typhoon, the 10th storm to have hit Viet Nam this year, left 99 people injured, said the ministry.

More than 105,000 have been destroyed or damaged, including 78,842 in Ha Tinh and 19,977 in Nghe An; 3,371 houses flooded; and 2,742 households isolated or cut off.

Over 9,400 hectares of rice and crops and 1,700 hectares of aquaculture have been inundated or damaged.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has issued an official telegram requesting ministries, sectors, and local authorities to urgently assist local people in overcoming the consequences of Storm No. 10 and the floods.

Chairpersons of the People's Committees of provinces and cities were asked to mobilize all necessary forces to quickly get access to areas still isolated due to the typhoon, and promptly carry out post-storm and flood recovery efforts.

Local residents should be assisted to repair houses damaged or unroofed by the storm and floods, arranged temporary shelters and provided with food, water, and essential supplies.

Educational and healthcare facilities damaged by the storm and floods must be restored prior to October 5.

Typhoon Bualoi slammed into Viet Nam on the night of September 28 and early September 29, causing severe destruction across northern and central provinces./.
