Residents encouraged to stay indoors as typhoon Bualoi nears central coast
VGP – Residents in central provinces from Nghe An to Quang Tri are encouraged to stay indoors as typhoon Bualoi is about to reach central Viet Nam over the next three to six hours.

Quang Tri province could see violent winds on Saturday afternoon
At 11:30am on September 28, the typhoon was about 110km east-northeast of the central city of Hue, and about 220km south-southeast of Quang Tri province, with the maximum sustained winds reaching 133 kilometers per hour.
At 16pm, the typhoon was about 120km east of Quang Tri’s coastline. It is moving west-northwest at a speed of 20-25 kilometers per hour and is expected to slam on the central provinces of Nghe An and Ha Tinh at 8-9pm on September 28.
Ha Tinh province could see violent winds by midnight while Nghe An province and Thanh Hoa province could respectively experience strong winds at 2-3am and 4-5am on September 29 , said Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep.
The typhoon is forecast to bring heavy rain to central localities, with total rainfall estimated at 200-400mm, putting mountainous areas at high risks of landslides and flash floods.
Central localities were requested to complete evacuation of residents and fishing boats prior to 3pm on Sunday, and to take necessary measures to protect safety of dykes and reservoirs.
Local search and rescue workers must continue to search for two persons still missing on ways to seek refuge.
The Ministry of National Defense said it has mobilized more than 344,000 military personnel as well as 8,166 equipment to support rescue, evacuation and disaster relief efforts.
Quang Tri province has mobilized around 18,000 personnel in respond to the typhoon, said Tran Phong, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee.
In Ha Tinh province, local authorities evacuated 6,756 households with 14,529 people and 3,983 vessels to safe places, according to Vu Trong Hai, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee./.
