Two universities recognized in Interdisciplinary Science Ranking
VGP - Two Vietnamese universities have been named in Interdisciplinary Science Ranking - an entirely new way to recognize, benchmark and incentivize those universities doing most to cross disciplinary boundaries and conduct scientific research in pioneering new ways.
They are Ton Duc Thang University in Ho Chi Minh City and Duy Tan University in Da Nang City.
The ranking was developed in a partnership between Times Higher Education (THE), universities and governments worldwide, and Schmidt Science Fellows, an initiative of Eric and Wendy Schmidt's Schmidt Sciences philanthropic foundation.
With a total score of 56.5 points, Ton Duc Thang University was ranked at 95th while Duy Tan University was at 176th with 47.4 points.
This is also the highest rankings these universities have achieved upon their first appearance in the THE rankings. Previously, Ton Duc Thang University was named in the 101-200 group when it debuted in the THE's Impact Rankings 2019 and ranked 98th in the 2022 rankings of the world's best young universities. Meanwhile, Duy Tan University was ranked between 601-800 in THE's Impact Rankings 2022.
Additionally, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City also appeared in this ranking but under the "reporter" status (universities that have submitted data).
The Interdisciplinary Science Ranking is THE's biggest ever debut international ranking, with 749 universities ranked from 92 different countries included in what is a voluntary assessment process. The world top 100 has great diversity with representation from six continents./.
