Tran Cam Tu attends funeral of top Lao legislator in Vientiane

The on the occasion, Tran paid a courtesy visit to Lao General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith.
At the meeting, on behalf of the high-level delegation of the Communist Party of Viet Nam and General Secretary and President To Lam, he conveyed to General Secretary and President Thongloun Sisoulith, and the Party, State, National Assembly and people of Laos, as well as the entire family of Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane, the most sincere condolences and deepest sympathy.

The passing of Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane was a great loss to the Party, State and people of Laos. For Viet Nam, it also meant the loss of a great friend and a close and loyal comrade who had always shown deep affection and valuable support, and had continuously contributed to fostering and consolidating the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation and strategic cohesion between Viet Nam and Laos, he noted.
Sisoulith expressed his profound appreciation to the Party and State of Viet Nam and personally to General Secretary and President To Lam for always standing side by side with, and sharing the difficulties and challenges of, the Party, State and people of Laos at important moments.

The Lao Party, State, and the family of Comrade Saysomphone Phomvihane, were deeply moved and highly valued the steadfast and heartfelt sentiments of the Vietnamese Party, State and people, the host shared.
The Tran's participation in the memorial and funeral services was a vivid testament to the profound bonds of comradeship and brotherhood, steadfastness and loyalty, and the tradition of the two Parties and two countries always standing shoulder to shoulder in all circumstances, he added.
Both sides also exchanged views to advance cooperation between the two Parties and the two countries towards a substantive and effective manner, realizing high-level agreements reached, making practical contributions to the development of each country, and promoting peace, stability and development in the region./.
