Trade value up over 15% in January-April
VGP - Viet Nam's trade value with the rest of the world reached US$238.88 billion in the first four months of 2024, marking an 15.2 percet increase compared to the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office.
Of the figure, export turnover hit US$123.64 billion, up 15 percent and import volume reached US$115.24 billion, up 15.4 percent.
Viet Nam recorded a trade surplus of US$8.4 billion in the reviewed period compared to US$7.66 billion of the same period last year.
During January-April, there were 20 commodities that recorded an export value of over US$1 billion each, accounting for 78.9 percent of the total export revenue. Notably, five commodities see their export value surpassing US$5 billion each.
The U.S. was Viet Nam's largest export market in the period, with an estimated turnover of US$34.1 billion, while China was the country's biggest import market with an estimated turnover of US$41.6 billion./.
