Pashinyan emphasized that this is the first visit by a high-ranking Vietnamese leader to Armenia since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The visit holds great significance, not only opening a new chapter in parliamentary cooperation but also creating momentum to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields, for the benefits of the people of the two sides, he noted, adding that Viet Nam has always been an important partner of Armenia in the Southeast Asian region.
Tran, for his part, reiterated that Viet Nam always treasures its traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Armenia.
Viet Nam advocates Armenia to strengthen cooperation with ASEAN and stands ready to serve as a bridge to promote Armenia's cooperation with ASEAN Member States, asserted the Vietnamese legislator.
Tran urged Armenia to discuss with other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) members to remove technical barriers, making it easier for products of both nations to enter each other's market.
He called on Armenia to support the principled stance of ASEAN and Viet Nam on the East Sea issue, resolving disputes by peaceful means based on international law, the UN Charter, and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
Both sides vowed to continue increasing the exchange of delegations at all levels, including business channels, and effectively implementing existing cooperation mechanisms and agreements to deepen and substantiate relations between the two countries.
Economic and trade cooperation serves as an important pillar in the bilateral relations, they stated, adding that there remains great potential for cooperation.
The two sides need to promote economic and trade cooperation more vigorously, creating favorable conditions for businesses from both countries to explore each other's markets, especially for Vietnamese agricultural and aquatic products entering the Armenian market, while also considering Armenian export products such as wine, processed foods, and metals.
They stressed the need to promote cooperation in new fields such as science-technology, innovation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and green transition.
Both sides asserted to effectively carry out the EAEU-Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement to make breakthroughs in the bilateral economic-trade cooperation.
They also discussed the importance of strengthening transport connectivity and multimodal transport to promote tourism and trade between the two countries and within the Asian and European regions.
The host and the guest vowed to continue exchanges regarding scholarship provisions for students, cooperation in high-tech human resource training, and regular organization of cultural activities.
Regarding multilateral and regional cooperation, both leaders pledged to continue close coordination at international and regional forums.
On April 5, Tran and his spouse wrapped up their official visit to Armenia and left Yerevan for Uzbekistan where they will attend the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-150) and pay an official visit to the country./.
