King Frederik X warmly welcomed General Secretary and President To Lam and his Spouse on their State visit to Denmark, highlighting that the visit takes place on the occasion of the 55th founding anniversary of Viet Nam-Denmark diplomatic relations, marking a significant milestone in the friendly and cooperative ties between the two countries.
King Frederik X shared his fond memories and deep affection for the country and people of Viet Nam from his visits in 2009, 2011, and 2022, emphasizing the special bond between the Royal House of Denmark and Viet Nam, including cherished memories of his latte father, Prince Henrik, regarding his years living in Ha Noi.
General Secretary and President To Lam expressed his sincere gratitude to King Frederik X and Queen Mary, and the Royal House of Denmark for the solemn, thoughtful and warm reception extended to the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation. To Lam also conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes from senior Vietnamese leaders to the King, the Queen, and the Danish Royal House.
To Lam congratulated Denmark on its development achievements, highly valuing its efforts to build a prosperous, modern nation with a high quality of life, leading the way in green development, innovation, and social welfare. He expressed his belief that under the leadership of King Frederik X, along with the efforts of the Government and people, Denmark would continue to thrive and enhance its key role and status in Europe and the world.
The top Vietnamese leader reassured that Viet Nam always attaches importance to and wishes to further deepen its traditional friendship and multi-facted cooperation with Denmark – one of Viet Nam’s key partners in the Nordic region and Europe.
Viet Nam deeply appreciates the valuable support and assistance Denmark has extended since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1971, To Lam affirmed.
The two leaders spoke highly of the positive growth in bilateral relations, especially since the establishment of the Comprehensive Partnership in 2013 and the Green Strategic Partnership in 2023.
They noted with pleasure at the continuous expansion of bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation. Major Danish business giants such as LEGO, Pandora, and Carlsberg have established strong presence and expanded their operations in Viet Nam, making positive contributions to socio-economic development, job creation, technology transfer, and green and sustainable growth in the Southeast Asian nation.
General Secretary and President To Lam appreciated King Frederik X’s important contributions to advancing Viet Nam-Denmark relations, emphasizing that his visits to Viet Nam in 2011 as Crown Prince to mark the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties, and in 2022 alongside Crown Princess Mary, now Queen Mary, and business entourage laid the groundwork for both sides to set up the Green Strategic Partnership in 2023.
To Lam expressed his hope that the King would continue to support and encourage Danish enterprises and organizations to strengthen cooperation and investment in Viet Nam.
The two leaders shared the view that beyond practical cooperative interests, the bilateral relations are nurtured by friendship, trust, and strong connections between generations of the peoples of both nations.
To Lam highly valued the Danish Royal Family’s role in fostering cultural exchanges and people-to-people links, expressing his hope that the two countries would continue to leverage these fine values to make the friendship between Viet Nam and Denmark increasingly close and deep-rooted.
On the occasion, General Secretary and President To Lam extended a cordial invitation to King Frederik X and Mary to visit Viet Nam again soon, to witness the Southeast Asian country’ robust transformation and the growing depth of bilateral ties.
The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere. General Secretary and President To Lam and his Spouse, together with King Frederik X and Queen Mary, expressed their firm confidence that the friendly and cooperative relations between Viet Nam and Denmark would continue to flourish, bringing tangible benefits and prosperity to both peoples while contributing positively to peace, stability, cooperation, and sustainable development in the region and the world./.
