GGeneral Secretary and President To Lam

According to the announcement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, To Lam and his spouse will attend the Summit of the Future and the 79th session of the UN General Assembly; pay a working visit to the U.S and a State visit to Cuba from September 22-26.

The State visit to Cuba will be made at the invitation of First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and his spouse.

Since officially becoming the 149th member of the UN on September 20, 1977, Viet Nam has always been a trustworthy partner and an active member of the organization, with numerous important contributions to the implementations of its missions.

The year 2023 marked a remarkable improvement in the U.S.- Viet Nam relations as the two countries officially upgraded their bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership for peace, cooperation and sustainable development.

Viet Nam and Cuba have maintained close relations since they established diplomatic relations on December 2, 1960. Although the current trade exchange value is still modest at about US$250 to 300 million, two-way turnover is capable of reaching US$500 million by 2025./.
