Addressing the event, First Vice-President of the Belgian Senate Andries Gryffroy affirmed that Viet Nam has always been a reliable partner for Europe and Belgium, adding that the resilience of its economy, its commitment to openness, and its open market have made Viet Nam a preferred destination for European partners.

According to Gryffroy, Viet Nam is emerging as one of the region's leading economies in terms of technological capabilities, digital transformation, and green transition.

Combining Viet Nam's strengths with Belgium and Europe's economic and technological advantages would generate significant momentum, particularly in seaports and logistics, creating new opportunities for businesses on both sides.

Meanwhile, top Vietnamese leader To Lam said, there are ample room for Viet Nam and the EU, as well as between Viet Nam and Belgium to further development cooperation.

Viet Nam hopes that both sides will continue to harness the advantages offered by the EU–Viet Nam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), while promoting the complete ratification of the EU–Viet Nam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), thereby establishing a more favorable legal framework for stable, long-term, and sustainable investment, he noted.

He called on businesses from both countries to foster collaboration in strategic infrastructure, logistics, seaports, clean energy, and circular economy.

It is necessary to jointly advance high technology, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and high-tech agriculture, underlined To Lam.

The Vietnamese leader underlined the need to upgrade trade into sustainable and responsible value chains that meet high standards.

European business associations should continue to strengthen their role as a bridge between businesses and authorities, between European standards and Viet Nam's production capabilities, and between cooperation ideas and projects with strong implementation potential, suggested To Lam.

At the event, both sides witnessed the exchange of cooperation agreements, including:

- An agreement between the Ministry of Education and Training of Viet Nam and the European Union (EU) on education and training.

- An agreement between the Ha Noi Municipal People's Committee, Aquitara Fund, and 512 Finance Company to conduct research and surveys and prepare an investment proposal for an eco-industrial and high-tech park project in Ha Bang Industrial Park, Ha Noi.

- An agreement between Viet Nam National Chemical Group and Air Liquide Group on cooperation to improve energy efficiency, industrial safety, and the energy transition.

- An agreement between national flag carrier Viet Nam Airlines and APG Inc. on cooperation to develop the market sustainably and promote their image and brand.

- An agreement between the European Chamber of Commerce in Viet Nam (EuroCham) and Aquitara Fund on cooperation in implementing the An Vui Mart Program under the Aquitara Charity Fund as part of EuroCham Give Back to Viet Nam program.

- An agreement between Vietravel Corporation and international tourism group HiSEAS on strategic cooperation and product development./.
