To Lam meets top Cambodian, Lao leaders in Ho Chi Minh City

Dignitaries to the meeting include Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Lao Prime Minister Sonsay Siphandon.

The Party leaders discussed recent regional and international landscape, briefing each other about recent developments of each Party and country, reviewing and charting major orientations for cooperation between the three Parties and countries in the time ahead.

The Party leaders underscored the importance and strategic significance of the close and intimate relations between the three countries, affirming their consistent policies of giving top priority to the traditional and friendly relations between the three Parties, countries and people of Viet Nam, Cambodia and Laos.

In the face of volatile and unpredictable changes in the region and the world, the three leaders agreed to continue expanding and deepening the relations between the three Parties and countries, cementing political trust and relations between the high-level leaders.

They pledged to maintain and promote the tradition of solidarity and closeness between the three countries, considering it as the invaluable asset and fundamental prerequisite for ensuring peace, security and development in each country

The leaders agreed to maintain and strengthen communication work to further improve people's awareness of the three countries' solidarity tradition.

The leaders agreed to consolidate defense and security cooperation to effectively deal with traditional and non-traditional security challenges; enhance information exchange and consultation while coordinating closely, supporting and protecting their legitimate interests and cope with common challenges.

The Party leaders emphasized the need to continue creating breakthroughs in economic cooperation, accelerating economic connectivity, especially in transport, trade and tourism sectors, and promoting cooperation in culture, education, science and technology through capitalizing on each country's potential and strengths.

The three Party leaders agreed to promote the role of the existing cooperation mechanisms and continue to explore new ways to enhance the quality and effectiveness of trilateral cooperation for the benefits of each country as well as people of the three countries, and for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.

On the occasion, President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen and General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith extended congratulations to General Secretary To Lam and other Vietnamese leaders and people on Viet Nam's major milestones in 2025, including the 50th anniversary of liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975-2025), the 80th anniversary of the National Day (September 2, 1945-2025), and the 135th birthday anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890-2025)./.
