Top CPV, CPP leaders meet in Ho Chi Minh City

This is a high-level meeting between the CPV Political Bureau and the CPP Standing Committee, which is of significant importance for the two sides to further strengthen the good neighborliness, traditional friendship, and comprehensive, sustainable and long-term cooperation between the two Parties, States and people in the new context.

During the meeting, To Lam and Hun Sen briefed each other about recent situation of each Party and country, comparing notes on regional and international issues of shared interests, reviewing the outcomes of bilateral cooperation and agreed on major orientations to further strengthen the bilateral ties.

The two leaders spoke highly of the increasingly broad and deep cooperation between the two Parties, States and people of Viet Nam and Cambodia, thus contributing to socio-economic development and elevating each country's position and prestige in the region and the world.

Hun Sen, who is also President of the Cambodian Senate, commended the CPV led by General Secretary To Lam for its drastic restructuring of organizational apparatus at various levels, considering it good experience for Cambodia to study.

The two Party leaders described the solidarity and mutual assistance between the two Parties and the two countries as an objective necessity and a historical rule, representing one of the greatest sources of strength that are vital to the revolutionary cause and the process of national construction and defense of both Parties and nations.

General Secretary To Lam reassured that the Party, State and people of Viet Nam always treasure and give high priority to consolidating and advancing the good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive, sustainable and long-term cooperation with the Party, State and people of Cambodia.

Both sides agreed to continue to further consolidate political ties to guide the overall relationship between the two Parties and countries, cultivate close relations between the two countries' leaders, to effectively implement the high-level agreements, to foster bilateral cooperation in defense, security, economy, trade, culture, education, and tourism in line with each country's potential and strengths./
