Thua Thien-Hue to host National Tourism Year 2025
VGP - The central province of Thua Thien-Hue has taken up the baton to host the Viet Nam Tourism Year 2025.

Thua Thien-Hue Vice Chairman Nguyen Thanh Binh said the National Tourism Year 2025 will feature nearly 160 national-level and provincial-level events, spanning across four seasons.
The opening ceremony of the Tourism Year 2025 will take place on March 25, he said.
Hue tourism is once again mentioned by international tourists when at the end of 2023, Travel+Leisure magazine (USA) proposed the ancient capital of Viet Nam as one of the must-visit destinations in Asia for tourists in 2024.
In 2023, Thua Thien Hue welcomed nearly 3.2 million visitors, notably with a significant increase in international tourists, reaching nearly 1.2 million, an increase of nearly 445 percent compared to the same period the previous year. The total tourism revenue is estimated to have reached over VND6,605 billion, an increase of over 145 percent compared to the same period the previous year.
In the first quarter of 2024, the number of visitors to Hue accounted for 892,000, an increase of 41 percent over the same period. Among them, international visitors reached 447,000, a growth of 74.6 percent over the same period.
The National Tourism Year is a pool of cultural, economic and social events hosted annually by different localities to promote tourism development and improve lives of local residents.
