Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra to visit Viet Nam this week
VGP - Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra will pay an official visit to Viet Nam on May 15-16 at the invitation of Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

During the visit, the Thai Prime Minister will also co-chair the fourth Viet Nam–Thailand Joint Cabinet Meeting with the Vietnamese Prime Minister.
Viet Nam and Thailand established diplomatic relations in 1976 and upgraded their ties to an Enhanced Strategic Partnership in 2019.
The two countries maintain regular cooperation mechanisms such as Political Dialogue, Defense Dialogue, Joint Cabinet Meeting, and other meetings to boost comprehensive cooperation.
Thailand is Viet Nam’s largest trading partner in ASEAN, with the two-way trade reaching US$20.18 billion in 2024, up 6.4 percent year on year. The two countries aim to raise bilateral trade turnover to US$25 billion in 2025.
Thailand ranks 9th among foreign investors in Viet Nam, with total registered investment capital surpassing over US$14 billion by the end of last year. /.
