Ho Chi Minh City based-Tan Son Nhat International Airport named among the world's 50 most connected airports in 2025 by OAG
OAG, world's leading provider of digital flight information, intelligence and analytics for airports, airlines and travel tech companies, has just released its ranking of the 50 most connected airports in the world, marking the tenth year the company has published this ranking.
The research organization used data from hundreds of the world's largest airports covering the period from September 1, 2024-August 31, 2025. To determine the top 50, the data were then extracted on August 1, 2025, identified as the "busiest day" in global aviation during that period.
After being absent for two consecutive years, Tan Son Nhat Airport has re-entered the ranking. According to OAG's calculations, the airport in Ho Chi Minh City offers 8,348 connection options—combinations of valid connecting itineraries—linking to 94 destinations worldwide. The research body also noted that Viet Nam Airlines holds the largest market share at this airport, accounting for 37 percent.
Industry experts note that a higher number of "connections" reflects the scale and transfer connectivity capacity of an airport. In 2024, Tan Son Nhat International Airport was ranked 54th.
The most recent year Tan Son Nhat International Airport appeared in the ranking was 2022, at the 41st. The airport serves 50 million passengers per year once Terminal T3 becomes operational from the second quarter of 2025./.
