State President Luong Cuong meets U.S. President Donald Trump in South Korea
VGP – State President Luong Cuong met with U.S. President in South Korea on October 29 as the pair are there to attend the APEC Economic Leaders' Week.

The two leaders highly valued the positive outcomes of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries and agreed to continue close coordination to further advance the bilateral ties in a practical, stable and sustainable manner for the benefits of the two sides and for peace, cooperation and sustainable development in the region and the world.
Luong congratulated on the achievements gained by the U.S. under the leadership of President Trump. He also spoke highly of Trump's role in pushing for the resolution of conflicts and resume peace in several regions over the past time.
Luong affirmed that Viet Nam stands ready to support efforts to seek sustainable solutions to conflicts in line with international law.
He suggested both sides would soon finalize the reciprocal trade agreement, taking into account of Viet Nam's conditions and the importance of the Viet Nam-U.S. relationship.
He also expressed his wish that the two countries would accelerate cooperation across the domains of politics-diplomacy, economy, trade, science and technology, defense and security, people-to-people exchange, while working together to overcome the war consequences.
Viet Nam welcomes the U.S. to make positive and responsible contributions to the Asia-Pacific region, said President Luong.
President Trump affirmed that the U.S. attaches importance to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Viet Nam, highly valuing Viet Nam's increasing role and position as well as its reform and international integration process.
Both sides compared notes on regional and international issues of shared concern. The U.S. side affirmed support for ASEAN centrality and appreciated Viet Nam's contributions to settling regional and international issues.
On the occasion, State President Luong conveyed senior Vietnamese leaders' invitation to President Trump and his Spouse to soon visit Viet Nam. President Trump recalled good impressions during his visits to Viet Nam in 2017 and 2019, and extended thanks for the Vietnamese leaders' invitation./.
