Seven commercial flights available for passengers

VGP – Seven regular international flights between Viet Nam and other countries and territories have been available for bookings, according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam.

January 16, 2022 2:50 PM GMT+7

So far, Viet Nam Airlines, the national flag carrier, has resumed regular air routes between Viet Nam and the U.S. (four flights per week), Japan (three flights per week), the RoK (two flights per week), Chinese Taipei (one flight per week), Singapore (two flights per week), Thailand (two flights per week) and Cambodia (four flights per week).

Airfares have been on sale for all passengers who meet epidemic prevention requirements as regulated by the Vietnamese authorities.

Low-cost carrier Vietjet Air exploited regular international air route to Japan with one flight per week.

Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan reported that the ministry received a proposal of both domestic and foreign airlines on removing the COVID-19 rapid test requirement before and after boarding.

The Ministry of Transport suggested the Government consider and allow the uniform application of regulations on pre-flight RT-PCR testing for travelers in line with international practices which other countries and territories have applied.

In case that RT-PCR testing is necessary, the Ministry proposed a single test for passengers and the crew after boarding.

Earlier, international commercial flights from/to Viet Nam has been resumed since January 1, 2022, in two phases, with air travel with nine foreign destinations in the first phase and 15 in the second phase.

There were 47 international flights carrying more than 6,000 passengers to Viet Nam from January 4-7.

There are a large number of Vietnamese people wishing to return home, including workers with expired labor contracts; students and people on working trips trapped overseas; and expatriates, especially on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival.
