RoK becomes Viet Nam's most potential tourist source market
VGP - The Republic of Korea (RoK) has emerged to become Viet Nam's most potential tourist source market with the number of tourists rising month after month.
Specifically, over 88,300 visitors from the Republic of Korea travelled to Viet Nam in July compared to 51,300 in June and 27,800 in May.
In the first seven months, 196,000 Korean visitors travelled to Viet Nam, accounting for 20 percent of the total number of foreign arrivals to the Southeast Asian country (about 954,000).
Among 63 cities and provinces, Da Nang become the top destination for Korean investors and backpacker travelers.
Previously, the latest study of Summer Travel Trends by Agoda.com. found that Korean travelers are super eager to get back to Viet Nam the most.
On June 23, Korean Air resumed service from Incheon, Korea, to Da Nang after a two-year closure due, by operating two chartered flights per week between the two cities.
Viet Nam reopened to international tourism with quarantine-free entry from March 15 and resumed 15-day visa waivers for tourists from South Korea, its second largest source market before the pandemic.
On April 29, Da Nang tourism authorities and Vietjet Air hosted a ceremony to welcome 220 air passengers from Incheon, on the very first commercial flight connecting the RoK and Da Nang after a long COVID hiatus./.
