The Government chief made the request at a meeting to review the implementation of the project in Ha Noi on August 13.

The Prime Minister demanded authorities and contractors to mobilize human resources and equipment to speed up the construction progress to finalize the project on schedule.

The transmission line, running from the central province of Quang Binh to the northern province of Hung Yen, has a total length of about 519 km and an investment of VND22 trillion (US$875.62 million), with four component projects crossing nine provinces. I

Construction of the transmission line began in January 2024.

The project is expected to help increase power transmission capacity from the central region to the North from 2,200 MW to 5,000 MW, something which is critical to solving power shortages in the northern region during peak summer months.

It also plays an important role in ensuring the country’s energy security and requires the engagement of ministries, departments and authorities of all localities through which it runs./.
