It is an achievement rarely seen in the global telecommunications industry, especially given that most of the markets where Viettel operates are developing countries, where economic and political risks are high.
Viettel's overseas operations also continued to expand in scale. The total number of international mobile subscribers reached 56 million, officially surpassing the number of subscribers in Viet Nam.
Among the 10 countries in which Viettel has invested, the company holds the leading market position in 7, including Unitel (Laos), Metfone (Cambodia), Mytel (Myanmar), Telemor (East Timor), Lumitel (Burundi), Natcom (Haiti), and Movitel (Mozambique).
In 2025, cash flows repatriated to Viet Nam from the group's international markets hit US$385.5 million, achieving 120 percent of the plan. By the end of 2025, Viettel's overseas investment payback ratio reached 91 percent, completing the target ahead of schedule.
In one of the most challenging markets, Peru, the group also made a strong mark as its local company, Bitel, rose to the second position two years ahead of target.
Earlier, Viettel won honors in the "People & Culture" and "Best Operator in a Growth Market" categories at the 2025 World Communication Awards (WCA), alongside the "Best Digital Transformation Project" at the 2025 Global Telecoms Awards (Glotel)./.
