Phan expressed his delight at the strong development of the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Viet Nam and Russia across many fields, in which defense cooperation and energy collaboration remain important pillars of the bilateral ties.
He hailed the positive outcomes in defense ties between the two countries in recent years, notably cooperation between military services and agencies, training cooperation, scientific and technological research within the framework of the Viet Nam-Russia Tropical Center, cooperation within international multilateral mechanisms hosted by each side as well as close coordination at ASEAN-led mechanisms, including the ASEAN Defense Ministers' Meeting Plus.
Shoigu, for his part, affirmed that Russia always prioritizes the development of its Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Viet Nam, while expressing the hope that both sides would continue to work closely in effectively implementing agreements reached during high-level visits, thereby helping strengthen political trust and enhance cooperation between the two sides.
The two sides pledged to continue cooperation areas mutually agreed, such as enhancing exchanges of experience, promoting humanitarian mine-clearance cooperation, educating military history to strengthen the traditional friendship between the two countries.
They agreed on the need to enhance training cooperation, and improve the effectiveness of the Viet Nam-Russia Tropical Center via technology transfer, cooperation in occupational medicine, research on marine and island resources and environment, as well as conservation and restoration of marine ecosystems./.
