This was among the latest updates on IPv6 development in Viet Nam released at the VNNIC Internet Conference 2026, held in Ho Chi Minh City, on June 19.
According to Pham Duc Long, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Viet Nam is witnessing one of the most significant transformations in the history of the Internet.
Over the years, Viet Nam has chosen not merely to be a user of technology but to become a country that actively participates in the development of the next generation of the Internet, he noted.
Viet Nam is now among the countries with the highest IPv6 usage rates in the world, with 67.68% IPv6 adoption, approximately 1.6 times higher than the global average.
Currently, around 95 million broadband Internet subscriptions (including both mobile and fixed-line connections) are operating stably on IPv6.
A total of 86 percent of ministries, government agencies, and local authorities have completed IPv6 migration for their official websites and online public service portals.
As a result, Viet Nam has accumulated substantial experience and developed policies for implementing IPv6 on a large scale, while fostering effective coordination among government agencies, businesses, and the technical community, noted the Deputy Minister./.
