The two countries share common aspirations for peace and progress, mutual support, and close coordination in international forums, especially at the United Nations, and have now become comprehensive partners.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Hungary in early 2024 created a strong spillover effect across all levels and sectors of both countries, generating new momentum to advance cooperation in all fields.
Looking back one year after this important visit, despite complex global and regional developments, two-way trade has continued to grow, with Viet Nam remaining Hungary’s leading trading partner in ASEAN.
In 2024, two-way trade turnover between Viet Nam and Hungary reached US$932 million, while Hungary’s FDI in Viet Nam totaled US$72.36 million, ranking 54th out of 147 countries and territories investing in the country.
Viet Nam has invested in two projects in Hungary with a total capital of US$5.8 million. In addition, a major investment project worth over US$80 million is currently in the process of applying for an investment license./.
