Prime Minister hosts Chinese Vice Foreign Minister

The Prime Minister spoke highly of the Chinese delegation's attendance at the 2nd ASEAN Future Forum, saying it would positively contribute to the success of the forum.

He expressed his hope that the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs will further promote their role as the standing agencies of the Viet Nam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation in promoting all-level delegation exchanges and fostering cooperation across various fields, especially infrastructure connectivity projects, including the construction of the Lao Cai–Ha Noi–Hai Phong standard-gauge railway project.

The Vietnamese leader suggested the two sides expedite discussions to sign protocols on exporting Vietnamese agricultural products to China, and effectively organize friendship exchange activities between the people of both countries, particularly among the young generation.

The two countries should seriously implement high-level common perceptions, well control disagreements, and maintain peace and stability at sea.

Sun, for his part, reiterated that the Party and Government of China always consider relations with Viet Nam a priority in China's neighborhood diplomacy.

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stands ready to work closely with the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to implement the high-level common perceptions, and further deepen cooperation across various fields and contribute to advancing the China-Viet Nam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and the China-Viet Nam Community with a shared future that carries strategic significance in a more practical and effective manner, bringing practical benefits to the two nations and their peoples.

The same day, Sun held talks with Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu, during which both sides consented to continue managing and safeguarding their shared land border in accordance with three legal documents on land border management and related agreements.

They also committed to fast-tracking the upgrading and opening of new border gates, fostering a peaceful, stable, cooperative, and developed Viet Nam-China border.

Nguyen reiterated Viet Nam's consistent stance on handling disputes and differences in the East Sea through peaceful means in line with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).

He suggested the two countries regularly maintain talks and exchanges on maritime issues and properly resolve matters related to fishing vessels and fishermen./.
