Politburo member Tran Cam Tu starts official visit to Singapore

During the visit, Tran will co-chair the first Viet Nam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue between the CPV and the People's Action Party (PAP) of Singapore.

The visit is made at the invitation of the PAP Central Executive Committee.

He is accompanied by Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Organization Commission; Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission; Doan Minh Huan, Politburo member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; and Le Hoai Trung, Politburo member and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Delegation also includes Minister of Science and Technology Vu Hai Quan; Permanent Deputy Chief of the Party Central Committee's Office Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; Vice Chairman of the Central Commission for Organization Nguyen Thanh Tam; Vice Chairman of the Central Commission for Inspection Doan Anh Dung; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong; and Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Tran Phuoc Anh among others.

The visit is of particular significance as it is the first official visit to Singapore by a Standing member of the CPV Central Committee's Secretariat. The Viet Nam-Singapore Strategic Dialogue mechanism as agreed by the two countries' leaders during the State visit to Singapore by General Secretary and President To Lam in recent May.

Viet Nam is the first country in Southeast Asia to establish a similar mechanism with Singapore's PAP./.
