National Assembly confirms nominee for Minister of Public Security

VGP - Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security, was confirmed by the National Assembly on Thursday as the new Minister of Public Security.

Sen. Lieut. Gen Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security

Mr. Luong Tam Quang, born on October 17, 1965 in Hiep Cuong commune, Kim Dong District, Hung Yen province, will replace his predecessor To Lam who was promoted to new role as President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

Luong is a member of the 13th Party Central Committee, member of the Standing Board of the Central Public Security Party Committee, and a Deputy Minister of Public Security.

The Ministry of Public Security currently has three Deputy Ministers: Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, and Lieunetant Generals Le Quoc Hung, Nguyen Van Long and Le Van Tuyen.

On May 22, General To Lam, then Minister of Public Security, was elected President of Viet Nam to replace Vo Van Thuong who had resigned from his political career./.
