On the occasion of New Year 2026, Ha Noi will organize fireworks displays at 5 locations, with 6 high-altitude fireworks display locations combining low-altitude and fireworks. The shooting period is from 11:45 p.m. on December 31, 2025 to 0:00 a.m. on January 1, 2026 (Thursday).
Two launch sites will be set up in Hoan Kiem Ward, including areas in front of the Ha Noi Moi newspaper headquarters and the Ha Noi Post Office. Other locations include Thong Nhat Park in Hai Ba Trung Ward, the F1 race track complex in Tu Liem Ward, Lac Long Quan flower garden in Tay Ho Ward, and Van Quan Lake in Ha Dong Ward.
Alongside the fireworks displays, the city will host the Countdown 2026 program from 7 pm to midnight on December 31, 2025 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square and the pedestrian area around Hoan Kiem Lake.
For the Lunar New Year 2026, the city plans to organize fireworks displays at 31 locations, with a total of 32 locations. Firework displays will comprise 11 high-altitude and low-altitude fireworks display sites and 21 low-altitude fireworks display sites. The shooting time is 0:00 on February 17, 2026 (Tuesday, New Year's Eve of Binh Ngo).
Cultural and historical sites will remain open throughout the holiday period, while a range of new tourism products will be introduced to help create a festive atmosphere reflecting the capital's traditional Tet celebrations.
In 2025, the capital's economy recorded positive growth, with 23 out of 24 targets met or exceeded. GRDP is estimated to rise by 8.5 percent; average per capita income reached VND 176.4 million; state budget revenue is estimated at over VND 641 trillion, up nearly 22 percent compared to 2024. Foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction reached US$4.1 billion, an increase of 52 percent, placing Ha Noi at the top nationwide.
In 2026, Ha Noi targets GRDP growth of 11 percent; average per capita income of VND 198 million, up VND 20 million from 2025; 100 percent of residents to receive free health check-ups; over 80 percent of days with good and moderate air quality; and the completion of 18,000 social housing units.
The city is reviewing and studying the formulation of a Master Plan for the Capital with a 100-year vision, based on the integration of the Ha Noi Capital Planning for 2021–2030 with a vision to 2050 and the adjusted Master Plan for Ha Noi to 2045 with a vision to 2065.
Ha Noi is studying and proposing amendments to Resolution No. 15 dated May 5, 2022, of the Politburo on the directions and tasks for capital development to 2030 with a vision to 2045, along with revisions and supplements to the Law on the Capital./.
