According to the OAG, the world's leading provider of travel data and insights, headquartered in the UK, Ha Noi–Ho Chi Minh City route has sold more than 8.56 million seats from October 2021 to the end of September 2022, ranking fourth in the list.

This shows the strong recovery of Viet Nam's domestic aviation market after the pandemic. In 2019, the air route also reached the top 6 in the world in this index.

In June this year, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) reported that Viet Nam's domestic aviation market is the fastest recovering in the world among 25 top countries.

The Southeast Asian country's aviation market is rebounding with a growth rate of 123 percent compared to the same period of pre-COVID-19, noted the IATA.

Statistics of the Civil Aviation Authority of Viet Nam (CAAV) showed that over the first nine months of this year, the nation handled 351,000 flights, a year-on-year increase of 117.8 percent.

As many as 75 million passengers, including 6.7 million foreign ones, arrived at 22 airports nationwide, respective surges of 162.4 percent and 1,797.2 percent.

Domestic airlines carried 37 million passengers during the January-September period, up 157 percent.
