Four Cabinet ministers to join parliamentary hearings

Minister of National Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh will be the first to field queries on management, exploitation and protection of national marine resources.

The minister will also respond to inquiries on the implementation of policies and laws on water security and measures to prevent and combat drought, saltwater intrusion, and the lack, decline, and pollution of water sources.

Solutions for research, exploration, exploitation and use of mineral resources as construction materials, and rare resources and minerals will be made clearly.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development, Construction and Transport may provide further information regarding the aforesaid topics.

Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien will clarify issues related to management, supervision, and protection of consumer rights in e-commerce activities.

He is expected to brief about solutions to boost exports, promote the implementation of free trade agreements (FTAs) and remove difficulties for businesses amidst of the complicated and unpredictable world situation.

The implementation of policies and laws to develop supporting and mechanical industries, especially in serving agricultural, forestry, and fishery processing, and agricultural and rural development will also be clarified.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development, Science and Technology, Information and Communications and Foreign Affairs will also be called to explain related matters.

Auditor General of the State Audit Office of Viet Nam Ngo Van Tuan is expected to explain why businesses and projects are audited but violations still occur.

Ngo will provide further information regarding the implementation of conclusions and recommendations of the State Audit Office, the prevention and combat of corruption and negative phenomena in state audit activities; and solutions to overcome overlapping inspections and auditing work.

The Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, and Public Security, and the Government Inspector General also be called to explain related matters.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung will answer questions regarding the recruitment, training and policies for athletes and artists and the generation of jobs for them after they reach the peak in their career.

The implementation of tasks and solutions to tourism recovery in 2024 and beyond as well as measures to develop night tourism products; and specific policies to attract investment in cultural, sports and tourism activities in ethnic minority and mountainous areas will be clarified.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, the Ministers of Planning and Investment, Finance, Transport, Education and Training, Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Home Affairs, and the Minister-Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs may provide further information regarding the aforesaid topics.

The parliamentary hearings form part of the National Assembly's ongoing sitting during which the legislators will discuss and approve 10 draft laws and three resolutions and give comments on 11 other bills and 16 socio-economic issues./.
