New Chairman of National Assembly elected
VGP – Legislators on Monday elected Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man as new Chairman of the National Assembly.
Tran, aged 62, previously served as Standing Vice Chairman of the legislative body (from May 2021), President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, Vice President of the Viet Nam Fatherland Front Central Committee, and Secretary of the Can Tho Municipal Party Committee.
In his oath taking speech, Tran pledged to devote his energy to serve the Fatherland and people, continue to improve the quality and effectiveness of the National Assembly.
He also committed to promoting democracy, solidarity, openeness and transparency to contribute to building a socialist rule of law State of the people, by the people and for the people.
The National Assembly is the supreme organ of State and the only body with constitutional and legislative powers./.
