This is part of the latest instructions for the surveillance and prevention of monkeypox issued by the Ministry of Health (MoH) on August 22.

The MoH will measure passengers' body temperatures and collect their travel history information.

Suspected travellers will be transferred to temporary isolation places to check epidemiological factors and undergo preliminary examinations. They will either be transported to medical facilities for health check-up and treatment or have their health monitored within 21 days upon arrival.

Suspected patients are requested to avoid contact with others and go to the nearest medical facility if they have symptoms of rash, headache, fever, chills, sore throat, malaise, fatigue and swollen lymph nodes.

As of August 21, Viet Nam has yet detected any case of monkeypox.

Earlier, the MoH ased localities nationwide to monitor foreign arrivals from countries with monkeypox as an early response after infections were spotted in the region./.
