Deputies pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh ahead of 16th NA’s first session

At the opening ceremony of the first working session, Chairman of the 15th National Assembly Tran Thanh Man is set to deliver the opening remarks, while General Secretary To Lam is expected to address the legislature.

During the session, the National Election Council will present a summary report on the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2026–2031 tenure, along with a report confirming deputies' credentials.

Nominations for key leadership positions, including the NA Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons, and members of the NA Standing Committee, will then be submitted. Deputies will discuss and approve the candidate lists before electing the Chairperson by secret ballot. 

The newly elected Chairperson will take the oath of office and deliver an inaugural address. 

These proceedings will be broadcast live on radio and television for public viewing.

The first session is expected to last around 11 working days and will be held in two phases, from April 6–12 and April 20–23, with April 24–25 reserved if necessary./.
