At the meeting, Pham reiterated that Viet Nam stands ready to continue fostering the comprehensive partnership with the U.S. in an intensive, effective and substantive manner.

Economic, trade and investment linkage remains a crucial pillar in the bilateral relationship, noted Pham, welcoming the USAID to continue increasing development budget for Viet Nam.

He suggested the USAID assist Viet Nam in overcoming war consequences, particularly dioxin decontamination and mine clearance, enhance collaboration in climate change adaption, healthcare, education, high-quality human resource development, help Fulbright University in Viet Nam become a regional-level training center; and promote green conversion and digital transformation.

Pham also asked the USAID to give priority to mitigating impacts of climate change in Viet Nam's Mekong Delta seriously affected by climate change.

For her part, Samantha Power expressed thanks to the Vietnamese Government, ministries, agencies and localities for their close coordination with the USAID in effectively carrying out U.S.-sponsored projects.

She pledged to continue boosting cooperation and providing more assistance for Viet Nam in implementing projects in the areas that the Prime Minister proposed.
