Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made the remarks at a reception on Wednesday for President of the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) Ivan Petrov.

Pham expressed thanks to the FIATA for its bridging role in fostering collaboration between Viet Nam's logistics business community and logistics business community and associations in the world, thus helping to reduce expenditures and costs and increasing competitiveness of Viet Nam's economy.

He appreciated the FIATA's support for the Viet Nam Logistics Business Association to host the FIATA World Congress in Ha Noi in 2025.

The Vietnamese leader suggested FIATA leaders advocate and closely coordinate with Viet Nam's relevant agencies to successfully organize the event.

He urged the FIATA to bolster collaboration with Viet Nam and assist the nation in building the logistics service strategy until 2035 with a vision to 2045.

Pham took the occasion to call on investors to invest in big harbors and support the nation in terms of training human resources, enhancing technology, and improving competitiveness and quality of logistics services with taking into account digital transformation, green transition and circular economy.

For his side, Ivan Petrov shared his impressions on Hai Phong, the biggest port city of Northern Viet Nam as well as the fast development of logistics in Viet Nam and the nation's visions and objectives in this sector.

FIATA expects to boost collaboration with Viet Nam in this area, he stated, noting that Viet Nam is a safe and potential destination for investment.

The organization of the FIATA World Congress 2025 and the strengthened coordination between the association and Viet Nam's relevant agencies will help promote development, digitalization and greening of logistics industry in the country, making the nation become a bigger hub for logistics and intermodal transportation, he shared.

Ivan Petrov is visiting Viet Nam to attend FIATA's 2023 Asia-Pacific Regional Annual Meeting, which will take place in the central city of Da Nang from July 13-15.

Viet Nam ranks 11th in the group of 50 global emerging logistics markets, according to the 2022 Emerging Market Logistics Index Report published by transport and logistics service provider Agility.

Logistics is the fastest growing and most stable industry in Viet Nam, with an average growth rate of 14-16 percent per year, with a scale of US$40-42 billion per year. Thanks to its political and social stability and favorable geographical position, Viet Nam benefits from a wave of supply chain shifts./.
