Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh meets Ukrainian President in Davos

VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of the 55th World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland on January 21.

The two leaders affirmed they attach importance to the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Ukraine, expressing their shared wish to maintain and promote bilateral cooperation.

The two sides pledged to continue seeking effective and appropriate measures to resume trade exchanges and operation of the intergovernmental committee for economic and trade cooperation.

Prime Minister Pham reiterated Viet Nam's balanced, subjective and consistent stance toward Russia-Ukraine conflict, which means all disputes must be settled by peaceful means in accordance with the fundamental principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, including respect for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, without threat or use of force.

Pham also affirmed Viet Nam supports reconciliation efforts by the international community to seek long-term solutions to the conflict with the participation of all relevant parties in line with international law and the United Nations Charter.

Viet Nam stands ready to join the international community's efforts to promote dialogue and seek peaceful solutions to soon end this conflict.

On the occasion, Pham suggested the Ukrainian Government continue support to ensure safety and property and to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese nationals living and working in Ukraine./.
