In a friendly atmosphere, the two Prime Ministers expressed their pleasure at the fruitful phone conversation between General Secretary To Lam and President of the Cambodian People's Party Hun Sen on August 14.

The two Prime Ministers briefed each other about the recent developments in respective countries and agreed on major orientations to further deepen the relations between the two countries in the time to come, especially in the fields of trade and investment.

Both sides also expressed their pleasure with the major outcomes reached during the summit meetings of the Party leaders and the Prime Ministers of Laos, Cambodia and Viet Nam in February this year.

The pair agreed to continue consolidating political trust and bolster the role of existing cooperation mechanisms under the motto of good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive and long-term cooperation

The two sides agreed to continue improving the effectiveness of bilateral economic cooperation in the spirit of "harmonized interests - shared risks", double efforts to soon raise the two-way trade to US$20 billion, promote local-to-local connectivity in a practical and effective manner, facilitate cross-border trade, and settle the remaining issues related to land demarcation and marker planting.

Pham hailed Hun Manet's efforts to boost infrastructure development and economic growth and improve Cambodian people's living standard since he became the Prime Minister of Cambodia.

Pham suggested the Cambodian side to continue to pay attention to and facilitate naturalisation for eligible Vietnamese people, and create favorable conditions for Vietnamese people to stabilize their lives, integrate into and make positive contributions to Cambodian society.

He also called on Cambodia to create conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to operate stably and expand investment in Cambodia.

The two Prime Ministers took the occasion to compare notes on regional and international situation of mutual concern.

Prime Minister Pham affirmed Viet Nam supports efforts to peacefully resolve all disputes in line with international law and practices, emphasizing that Viet Nam will continue to work with ASEAN Member States to promote the implementation of the ceasefire agreement reached between Cambodia and Thailand on July 28, 2025, so as to promote ASEAN centrality for peace, cooperation and development in the region./.
