General Secretary To Lam holds phone conversation with Cambodian People’s Party President Hun Sen
VGP - General Secretary To Lam had a phone converation with President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) Hun Sen on August 14 to discuss measures to strengthen relations between the two Parties and countries.

The two leaders briefed each other on the situation in their respective Parties and countries; exchanged views on recent regional and international developments; and reviewed the Viet Nam-Cambodia relations and chart major orientations to further further deepen the bilateral ties.
Both sides agreed to bolster relations through Party and State channels, consolidate political trust, increase exchanges of high-level delegations as well as ministerial, sectoral, and local-level visits, and enhance the effectiveness of existing cooperation mechanisms and high-level agreements.
The pair agreed to maintain timely information sharing and consultation on international, regional, and bilateral matters, thereby making the relationship more substantive in the new period for the practical benefit of both peoples.
General Secretary To Lam congratulated Cambodia on its socio-economic achievements in recent years under the sound leadership of the CPP and the Royal Government, which have improved the living standards of the Cambodian people. He welcomed positive progress in resolving Cambodia–Thailand border issues.
In reply, Hun Sen expressed his appreciation for Viet Nam to have invited hime to attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Viet Nam's National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025) and confirmed his participation.
He underscored the profound significance of the event, which reflects Viet Nam's great national solidarity, heroic spirit, and indomitable will during the struggle for independence.
Hun Sen also praised Viet Nam's socio-economic and diplomatic achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV), expressing his belief that Viet Nam will continue advancing toward a new era of development and achieve its two centenary goals.
Regarding international and regional matters, General Secretary To Lam reaffirmed that disputes should be resolved through peaceful means in line with international law and norms, while underlining the need to promote ASEAN's central role in fostering peace, stability, cooperation, and prosperity in the region and the world./.
