Cormann is now in Viet Nam to attend the OECD-Southeast Asia Ministerial Forum 2023 from October 26-27.

Pham expressed thanks for the OECD's partnership and support for Viet Nam in its role as the Co-Chair of the OECD Southeast Asia Regional Program (SEARP).

He welcomed the OECD's approval of the Indo-Pacific Strategy in June, expecting that the OECD and the Secretary-General would continue providing assistance and resources for the region.

The Prime Minister suggested the OECD assist Viet Nam in building policies to attract high-quality investment and take part in global value and supply chains that guarantee interests for investors and effectively adapt to new regulations, particularly the global minimum corporate tax.

He called on the OECD to support Viet Nam to enhance new growth drivers such as green conversion, digital transformation, carbon market development, and innovation.

Cormann, for his part, spoke highly of Viet Nam's key role as the Co-Chair of the SEARP, especially the initiative to organize the OECD-Southeast Asia Ministerial Forum 2023.

Viet Nam still has ample room to attract high-quality investments towards green and sustainable development, he shared.

He reaffirmed the important role of the Southeast Asia, in general, and Viet Nam, in particular, for OECD, expressing his wish to upgrade the Viet Nam-OECD relationship and his willingness to expand collaboration with Viet Nam in areas of common interests./.
