Prime Minister begins tour to three European countries

His tour is made at the invitation of Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala, and WEF Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schawab.

Pham is accompanied by Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen, Minister-Chairman of the Government Office, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, Chairman of the Commission for Management of State Capital at Enterprises Nguyen Hoang Anh, Deputy Minister of National Defense Le Huy Vinh, Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Van Tuyen, Vice Chairman of the Central Commission for Inspection Hoang Van Tra.

The official visits to Poland and the Czech Republic are of significant important as the visits take place on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and these two European countries (1950-1925).

This is the first visit by a Vietnamese Prime Minister to Poland in 17 years and to the Czech Republic in six years.

Pham's visits also reflect Viet Nam's consistent policy of treasuring and strengthening political trust as well as bringing the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Poland and the Czech Republic to a more substantive and effective fashion in accordance with the new situation.

Pham and leaders of Poland and the Czech Republic are expected to focus discussions on how to promote cooperation across such areas of politics – diplomacy, defense – security, economy – trade – investment, education – training, culture – sports – tourism, environment, and health care, among others.

Meanwhile, Pham's engagement at the 55th WEF annual meeting indicates Viet Nam's growing role, position and prestige on the international arena.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Pham will brief about Viet Nam's determination, aspiration and vision to achieve strategic goals over the next 20 years and join discussions on various topics that are key to the country's national development process./.
