The summit brought together leaders from EAS participating countries, the ASEAN Secretary-General, the President of BRICS and the President of G20.

In the momentous 20th EAS anniversary, the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the EAS as the premier leaders-led forum for dialogue and cooperation on strategic, political, and economic issues of mutual interest and concern in the region.

The Leaders also adopted the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on the Twentieth Anniversary of the EAS and thematic statements on relevant issues.

Addressing the event, Prime Minister Pham called on countries to strengthen solidarity, consolidate linkages and promote multilateral cooperation to maintain an environment of peace, stability, security and safety for sustainable and inclusive development.

Pham called for increasing similarities and reducing disagreements while avoiding unilateral actions that may lead to confrontation, disruption of supply chains and obstruction of trade and investment flows.

He spoke highly of the EAS's role and calling on the EAS participating countries to take the lead in protecting the principles of international law and multilateralism, promoting an open, inclusive, transparent and rule-based regional order, with ASEAN at the core.

EAS countries also need to take pioneering role in promoting new growth drivers, especially science and technology, innovation, digital transformation and green transition.

In the spirit of dialogue and cooperation, the Vietnamese Prime Minister said that maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea is an urgent requirement as it serves as foundation for cooperation and common prosperity.

From that perspective, Pham urged parties to respect international law, especially the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, refrain from complicating the situation, settle disputes through peaceful means, while coordinating in full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC) and working towards early conclusion of a substantive and efficient Code of Conduct in the East Sea.

Pham reassured Viet Nam's support and readiness to contribute to the sustainable peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, calling on parties to soon resume negotiations, exercise restraint, and seriously implement the United Nations' related resolutions.

For Myanmar issue, the Prime Minister called on relevant parties to end violence, engage in comprehensive dialogues, and create favorable conditions for humanitarian assistance, thereby promoting the reconciliation process and safe election. He also called on partners to support and assist ASEAN in this process./.
