Sisoulith extended his congratulations to Luong upon his election as the President of Viet Nam, adding that this reflects the trust and high regard that the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam hold for the President's contributions to the nation's development process.

He also expressed his belief that President Luong, together with other senior leaders, will guide Viet Nam towards further progress, achieving its set goals and transforming the country into a high-income nation.

Sisoulith highly appreciated the traditional and close-knit friendship between the Parties, States, and peoples of Viet Nam and Laos.

He expressed gratitude for Viet Nam's invaluable support for Laos over the years, especially its multifaceted assistance that has helped Laos successfully perform the roles as 2024 Chair of ASEAN and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA).

He affirmed that he would work closely with the Vietnamese President to implement the high-level agreements reached between the two countries, contributing to further enhancing the special and close-knit relationship between the two nations.

Luong, for his part, thanked the Lao leader for being the first foreign leader to send a congratulatory letter and hold an online meeting immediately after his election.

Luong reiterated that he will continue to closely collaborate with the Lao General Secretary and President, along with other senior Lao leaders, to further nurture the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Both leaders updated each side's situations, expressing delight over the achievements each nation has made in socio-economic development as well as the continuous development of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos in recent times.

They vowed to direct their relevant agencies to effectively realize the outcomes of the recent high-level meetings between the two Politburos and high-level agreements.

The two leaders underlined the need to actively prepare for the upcoming 47th session of the Viet Nam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee and accelerate efforts to resolve obstacles in key joint projects, thereby promoting sustainable and effective economic cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides occurred to continue promoting communications and education of the traditional history of the special relationship between Viet Nam and Laos, as well as voice their support for each other at regional and international forums./.
