President hosts Belarusian defense minister
VGP - President Luong Cuong hosted a reception for visiting Belarusian Minister of Defense Khrenin Viktor Gennadievich in Ha Noi on Tuesday.
Luong affirmed, the Party, State, and people of Viet Nam always treasure the traditional friendship between the two nations, which has been nurtured by leaders and peoples of the two countries.
He his expressed delight at the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. Particularly, political and diplomatic relations have been promoted, providing an important foundation for advancing cooperation in other areas such as defense, security, economy, trade, investment, education, science and technology, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, highlighted the host.
Luong spoke highly of effective achievements in the bilateral defense cooperation, calling on both sides to further promote and deepen defense ties through stepping up all-level delegation exchanges, upholding existing cooperation mechanisms, and fostering collaboration in fields of training, military medicine, and military history.
The State leader emphasized the need to strengthen the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two countries, including the collaboration between the two defense ministries, contributing to peace, stability, and development in each country and the region.
Gennadievich, for his part, hailed the fruitful developments in the bilateral cooperation across all sectors, adding that both sides share common stances on international and regional issues, as well as a similar approach toward a multipolar world for the benefit of their peoples.
Belarus always considers Viet Nam one of its priorities in its foreign policy for the Asia-Pacific region, noted the minister, expressing his wish that both sides will continue to strengthen, nurture, and elevate their bilateral relationship.
He reported to the President on the outcomes of his talks with Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang, adding that defense cooperation between the two countries has positively progressed, helping to enhance the professionalism and military readiness of their armed forces./.
