PM receives UAE Minister of Economy and Planning Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri
VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of Economy and Planning Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri in Abu Dhabi on October 28.
Pham congratulated the UAE on successfully hosting the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), expressing his belief that the UAE Vision 2031 would help the Middle East country to become a global economic hub and a successful development model of the world.
Pham spoke highly of Minister Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri's contributions to advancing the Viet Nam-UAE relations, especially during the negotiation process for a comprehensive economic partnership agreement (CEPA) between the two countries.
He called on both sides to further strengthen cooperation, particularly in developing financial centers, free trade zones, and businesses; promoting trade and investment partnerships and people-to-people exchanges; and opening direct air routes between the two countries.
Pham suggested the UAE facilitate the import of Vietnamese products such as farm produce, fresh fruits and vegetables and assist Viet Nam in developing Halal industry in a bid to raise the two-way trade to US$10 billion in the coming years.
In reply, Marri appreciated Prime Minister Pham's support for the CEPA, saying that his country is looking forward to the signing of the agreement to create a new breakthrough for the bilateral economic ties.
The UAE wishes to organize an investment conference in Viet Nam with the participation of leading business giants to discuss ways to boost investments from the UAE into Viet Nam, said Marri./.
