PM delivers policy speech at National University of Malaysia

VGP - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and delivered a policy speech at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) on Wednesday morning as part of his five-day tour to Malaysia.

Prime Minister Pham said that the Viet Nam - Malaysia relationship is politically stable, economically strong and both countries share he common goal of protecting the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity and strive for the happy future of their people.

He highly appreciated the signing of a cooperation Protocol between UKM and Ho Chi Minh City National University and Ha Noi National University.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the potential for cooperation between the two countries in human resource development, science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation still remains huge, and suggested that the two sides explore the possibility to build a Malaysian university in Viet Nam.

Pham proposed the two countries improve the effectiveness of education and training cooperation, especially at the university level, based on the following pillars: enhancing cooperation in training human resources for high-tech industries; promoting cooperation in scientific research and innovation; expanding academic exchanges - connecting students - exchanging scholarships; developing training programs, quality assessment; and promoting cooperation in creative startups.

Later the same day, Prime Minister Pham left Kuala Lumpur, successfully concluding his tour to Malaysia where he attended the 46th ASEAN Summit and related meetings./.
