The Party leader hailed the significance of Mishustin's visit, saying that it takes place at a time when the two countries are celebrating the 75th founding anniversary of the diplomatic relations.
To said that he was pleasured to witness the developments in the bilateral ties particularly following Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Viet Nam in June 2024.
He highly appreciated the valuable support and assistance that the people of the former Soviet Union and Russia today have offered to Viet Nam during its past struggle as well as current national construction and development cause.
Viet Nam attaches special importance to its traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, affirmed the General Secretary, adding that the Southeast Asian country considers Russia a top priority partner in its foreign policy.
In reply, Mishustin expressed his pleasure to visit Viet Nam for the first time, and reiterated President Putin's invitation to General Secretary To Lam to attend the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and to visit Russia in 2025.
Mishustin congratulated Viet Nam on its socio-economic development achievements, expressing his belief that the Communist Party of Viet Nam, led by General Secretary To Lam, lead Viet Nam into a new era of development and prosperity.
Russia appreciates Viet Nam's efforts in promoting bilateral cooperation, thus helping the two countries to obtain significant achievements in all fields, said Mishustin.
In the context of complex developments in the global and regional landscape, Russia highly values the Vietnamese people's friendship and affection towards Russia, he noted./.
