To ensure timely completion of the first construction phase, the Government leader stressed the need for a management approach built on the principle of ensuring clear roles, tasks, responsibilities, authority, timelines.

All relevant ministries, agencies, and units were instructed to strengthen inspection, supervision, and monitoring throughout the construction process.

All four component projects under Phase 1 must be completed and become fully operational simultaneously for the grand opening.

The Prime Minister emphasized that the airport's transport connections must be seamlessly integrated with national expressways and railway networks, while all on-site and auxiliary facilities—including essential infrastructure, airside infrastructure, and landside facilities—must be ready.

He also underscored the importance of meeting the highest standards in terms of quality, technical specifications, and aesthetics.

The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committees of Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai Province to immediately coordinate on a feasibility study for an underground metro link between Tan Son Nhat and Long Thanh airports and report to the Government in August.

In addition, the Ministry of Construction and the Airports Corporation of Viet Nam (ACV) were tasked with studying and proposing the development of a third runway, with a report also due in August.

Located about 40 kilometers east of Ho Chi Minh City, the Long Thanh International Airport is expected to relieve pressure on the overburdened Tan Son Nhat International Airport and serve as Viet Nam's premier international gateway. The full-scale project will cover more than 5,000 hectares. Phase 1 alone is estimated to cost around US$4.6 billion, while the total investment for the entire project is projected at approximately US$18.7 billion./.
