Legislators approves funding package for cultural development
VGP - The National Assembly on Wednesday approved a funding package worth VND122,250 billion for cultural development from 2025-2030.
The above figure includes VND77,000 billion from central budget, accounting for 63 percent; VND30,250 billion from local budget, and around VND15,000 billion from other lawful sources.
The financial package constitutes part of the National Target Program on Cultural Development for the 2025 – 2035 period.
The program will be implemented nationwide and in a number of countries that have longstanding cultural relations and cultural similarities with Viet Nam.
It will focus on cultural and art activities at all provincial, district, commune and village-level units nationwide and a number of Vietnamese cultural centers abroad.
The program is expected to contribute to preserving and upholding the value of the nation's unique cultural heritage; promoting socio-economic development; and enhancing the country's position in the international arena through promoting "soft power" of the Vietnamese culture, international cultural integration, and absorbing the quintessence of human culture./.
